Elaine's Sharing... Wow!
Elaine was very prolific this semester! Here are some of the pieces she brought in to share.
A landscape with a sky she painted herself
A pretty fence with 3-dimensional dragonflies
A wheel chair bag
Her shadow applique tablerunner
Her totebag side one
And side two

My company is gone. I'm sad that we didn't have better weather while Jonathan was here. Not exactly the impression of California we were hoping to impart! I have the long weekend to finish off the Bernina stuff and get the house back into shape for Pierre's home coming and the next batch of company.

Two Interesting Websites
Okay so now that I have a little more leisure time (I finished the hat today!) I had time to check out a couple of websites.
This one is in last month's Reader's Digest: http://http://freerice.com
And my daughter told me about this one: http://splapp-me-do.deviantart.com/art/The-Impossible-Quiz-Lite-50433260 It's a bit frustrating, but somehow its quirkiness intrigues me.
Enjoy!

Even More Sharing
Here is the front of Colleen's jacket
And the back

Here is Christine's notebook cover. You'd never know she's a beginner!
Christine's photo memory quilt
Christine's rag Christmas tree
And what am I doing, you ask? I'm plugging along on the Bernina Fashion Show ensemble. The dress is done. The coat and lining are done, just need assembly. I am in the throws of making a hat I've never tried before. I'm so glad I made a muslin mock-up first so I could see how many mistakes I could make! I'm hoping I got them all out of my system and the real thing will go smoothly. The cap part is finished, now I just need to tackle the band and the brim. I don't think it's breaking any rules to tell you that it's a hat known as a Gatsby or newsboy. Are you picturing it? I wish I could show you all, but not until the grand unveiling October 30 in Houston.

Spring Semester Sharing First Post
Anwill's T-shirt quilt
Over the next several weeks I will be posting the pictures I took at the meg-sharing we had on the last day of class. I am not a professional photographer and had very little time to take the picture and jot down who did what so please forgive me if I got it wrong or out of focus. Just sit back and enjoy the show. I know I did!

Split Circles and LA Garment District
I went to the LA garment district today for the first time. It was so awesome! The haggling and the shops reminded me a lot of Bahrain, but without the really long and expensive plane trip. I found some great silk dupioni for only a little more than it is in Bahrain and some other shiny goodies as well :-) I had a great tour guide (thanks Stephanie) and a fun fellow tourist (hi Suzanne) and now I'm exhausted. Yay!
This is the last week of classes for the semester. I will be teaching the split circle quilt pictured below. You don't need to bring anything for the lesson, but don't forget to bring ALL your sharing AND your camera (with good batteries!). Snacks are welcome, but not necessary, especially since I gave in and joined Weight Watchers last weekend ;-)
