June Snowmen

Here are the snowmen we made for June. As you can see we went for different themes and holidays. I think that's one of the reasons this swap is so much fun!
Veronica made a wedding couple for Dorothy.

Dorothy made a wedding couple for me.

But Marlys made a Flag wavy pair of snowmen in honor of Flag Day for Pat.

And Pat made a bridal snow woman for Thelma.

While Thelma made a square dancing couple for Veronica who loves to square dance with her tall husband.

And I decided the celebrate the first day of summer with a melting snowman.

We have each embraced the idea of 3-dimensional tidbits added to the blocks. This month saw loose flowing bridal veils, a swirly square dance skirt and a bird's nest made of loose thread.. We have decided that we will work around or gently remove and replace buttons, beads and charms when we quilt our snowmen quilts.

Please let me know if you have ever tried a swap like this. We are enjoying it so much we're thinking about what to do in January when this swap is over. Suggestions?
