Curiosity

Here's Kestrel exploring EVERYTHING in the house. They are such a delight, but a lot of work to train. They are good about not getting on the counters (finally), but I caught Ninja drinking out of my milk glass yesterday! I case you haven't figured out what Kestrel is checking out, she climbed inside my daughter's tuba! Not something you see every day :-)

Painted Fabric

Some friends discovered Micky Lawler's Sky Dyes book so we played around with it. In this piece I was trying for a plaid, LOL. Oh well, at least I used up the leftover paint!

Sunset
Underwater
Sky

This was actually a fairly good sky, but when I hung it on the line to dry it folded on itself :-(

No idea what this will be, probably the base for an art quilt. I was trying to see how well the paints blend on wet fabric.

More using up leftovers: the 3 primaries

Another attempt at a sunset. As you can see, painting doesn't come naturally to me.

Red and yellow blended on the fabric then salt drizzled in a spiral. Interesting texture.
All in all I wouldn't call any of them thrilling, but the more you practice the better you get, right?

Phoenix

Another block done. This one was a labor of love with over 70 feathers! If you look closely this is a rework of the eagle design from my patriotic sampler quilt that I made with the Thursday Girls.

Sphinx

Another in my mythology series. I think this is my favorite so far!

Moving

Wednesday night my husband brought home a rental truck and we loaded it up. Thursday morning we drove it up to Long Beach and moved Elisia into her first apartment. She didn't take that much since she's sharing an apartment with 2 friends, but it did a number on my back, despite the fact that Pierre did most of the heavy lifting. So I'm taking it easy for awhile.
